Hyaluronic Acid

What is it?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring, clear and lubricating substance found in our skin, joints, and connective tissue. It is responsible for retaining collagen, holding onto hydration, and providing elasticity. As we age, its concentration decreases and the skins ability to hold onto moisture lessens.

Many products are now being made with hyaluronic acid due to it’s “plumping” mechanism. When applied topically, it seeps into skin cells and holds onto tiny water molecules. It can hold up to one thousand times its weight in water, providing intense and immediate hydration. It helps to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, softening the skin and giving it a nice youthful glow. Injectables such as Juvederm utilize this acid as well, which is what gives the targeted area that fuller look after.

Our #1 selling moisturizer at Corrective Skincare is our Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer. It is water based, whipped into a gel. The consistency looks thick, but once applied it feels super lightweight. There’s no oil either, so it won’t break you out!
